Wes

Dr. Wes and Maria Smith have been missionaries for the last eight years serving in the Dominican Republic.  Dr. Wes was the founder and Director of the Central Caribbean Evangelical Seminary in San Pedro.  Prior to serving as a missionary, Dr. Wes was a Christian School superintendent for thirty years.

Dr. Wes was led to the Lord by his mother when he was 10 years old.  Maria accepted the Lord in her home country of Ecuador through a missionary effort there.  They have been married for 8 years after losing their previous spouses to cancer.

When Dr. Wes and Maria returned to the States, after serving as missionaries in the Dominican Republic, they visited many churches in Jacksonville, but only found one that felt like home.  They come to love this church and are excited about serving the Lord here in the Southwest community.
